Ahmed Rashed, M.D.


Ahmed Rashed, MD, is an interventional cardiologist at K Heart and Vascular Institute. His clinical specialties include coronary artery disease, heart attack care, heart valve disease, heart failure, arrhythmia, treatment of pulmonary embolism and peripheral vascular disease.


He is board-certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Medicine, Internal Medicine, Echocardiography, Nuclear cardiology, Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography as

well as Vascular Interpretation.


A graduate of Ain Shams University College of Medicine, Dr. Rashed completed a residency in Cardiovascular Medicine at Dar Al Fouad Hospital and earned a Master of Science degree from Ain Shams University. He then completed an internal medicine residency at Detroit Medical Center / Wayne State University followed by specialty and subspecialty fellowships in Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology at Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University.


Dr. Rashed is the author and co-author of numerous research articles in leading medical journals. His research interests include ischemic preconditioning and the role of mechanical circulatory support in shock and myocardial infarction. Dr. Rashed has served as a reviewer for several medical journals. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.


Dr. Rashed enjoys spending time with his three children, biking, soccer and traveling.
